Subject: Harold Norman...not interviewed at all til 11-26 Date: Sun, 06 Jun 1999 05:19:56 GMT From: barb_j@ix.netcom.com (Barb Junkkarinen) Organization: Netcom Newsgroups: alt.conspiracy.jfk,alt.assassination.jfk Harold Norman was not even interviewed until Nov 26th.....and that was by the FBI. Jarman and Williams made handwritten statements on 11-22, Jarman gave an affidavit that was notarized on 11-23 as well. At any rate, in his 11/26 statement, Norman made NO mention of having heard the pinging shells and the cycling of the rifle. He told the FBI that after the first shot: "...he stuck his head from the window and looked upward toward the roof but could see nothing because small particles of dirt were falling from above him. He stated two additional shots were fired after he had pulled his head back in from the window." (CD5p26) There were witnesses on the street who reported seeing two men sticking their heads out of the window and looking up. Note also, that in this statement, Norman has the debris falling from a source *outside*...NOT from the ceiling inside. It was over a week after the FBI interview that Norman was interviewed by the Secret Service (SS491). It was in *that* interview that Norman's tale of hearing the shells and rifle *first surfaced*. To the SS he stated: "I knew that the shots had come from directly above me, and I could hear the expended cartridges fall to the floor. I could also hear the bolt action of the rifle. I also saw some dust fall from the ceiling of the fifth floor and I felt sure that whoever had fired the shots was directly above me". (CD87) By the time he appeared before the WC on March 24, 1964, he then remembered *saying* to the others at the time that he heard the shell and rifle sounds from above, he denied seeing any falling dust but said he saw some in Williams' hair, and didn't remember ever putting his head out the window nor the falling dirt that he had told the FBI about.(3H191-196) Ahem.
