Speaking of which, here are some of the things I came up with a few months
ago when I did a Web search under "Permindex." No one seemed to get my
point at the time; perhaps it will seem slightly less obscure to one or
two people this time around.

The ruling clique of Permindex and its two subsidiaries, the Italo
American Hotel Corporation and Centro Mondiale Comerciale, in addition to
the sophisticated Nazis and Fascists heretofore named, were Gutierez di
Spadafora, who was Under-Secretary of Agriculture in Mussolini's Fascist
regime and who was also a ruling lord in the Mafia with Italy and Southern
Europe as his land area; Enrico Mantello (Henry Mandel, brother of George
Mandel); Guiseppee Zigiotti, the head of the Italian political party,
Fascist Nationalist Association for Militia Arms; and Hungarian emigre and
former Nazi, H.  Simonfay.29

On December 1, 1962, the representative of the publication, Who's Who in
the South and Southwest, was told by Clay Shaw in New Orleans that he was
a director for the Swiss Corporation, Permindex. Shaw was also one of the
directors for Centro Mondiale Comerciale of Rome. As we shall see later,
one purpose of Permindex was the funding of the 1961 and 1962
assassination attempts on DeGaulle.

Both firms being directed by the same men, the stated corporate purpose
was to encourage trade between nations. Their actual purpose was fourfold:

  1. To fund and direct assassination of European, Mid-East and world
leaders considered threats to the Western World and to petroleum interests
of the backers.

  2. To furnish couriers, agents, and management in transporting,
depositing and re-channeling funds through Swiss banks for Las Vegas,
Miami, Havana and international gambling syndicate.

  3. To co-ordinate the espionage activities of the Solidarists and
Division Five of the FBI with groups in sympathy with their objectives and
to receive and channel funds from the financiers to the action groups.

  4. To build, acquire and operate hotels and gambling casinos in the
Caribbean, Italy and other tourist areas.30

The principal financiers of Permindex were a number of U. S. oil
companies, H.  L. Hunt of Dallas, Clint Murchison of Dallas, John DeMenil,
Solidarist director of Houston, John Connally as executor of the Sid
Richardson estate, Haliburton Oil Co., Senator Robert Kerr of Oklahoma,
Troy Post of Dallas, Lloyd Cobb of New Orleans, Dr. Oschner of New
Orleans, George and Herman Brown of Brown and Root, Houston, Attorney Roy
M. Cohn, Chairman of the Board for Lionel Corporation, New York City,
Schenley Industries of New York City, Walter Dohrnberger, ex-Nazi General
and his company, Bell Aerospace, Pan American World Airways, its
subsidiary, Intercontinental Hotel Corporation, Paul Raigorodsky of Dallas
through his company, Claiborne Oil of New Orleans, Credit Suisse of
Canada, Heineken's Brewery of Canada and a host of other munition makers
and NASA contractors directed by the Defense Industrial Security Command.

organizations with shared directors: Centro Mondiale Commerciale (CMC, or
World Trade Center) and a subsidiary, Permanent Industrial Expositions,
usually called "Permindex." CMC's board included Shaw and Ferenc Nagy,
former Prime Minister of Hungary. A major stockholder was Maj. L.M.
Bloomfield, who Schoenman categorized as "a former officer of the Office
of Strategic Services (OSS), a member of Division 5 of the FBI and a
personal confidante of J. Edgar Hoover." Shaw listed his Permindex
directorship in "Who's Who in the Southwest (1962)." (NOTE: I asked the
reference librarian in my little municipal public library to locate that
book. She was unable to find it. She did, however, locate Clay Shaw's
listing in "Who's Who in the South and Southwest 1963-1964,"  and had the
appropriate page faxed to me from the library that owned the book.  Shaw's
listing included the phrase, "member of the board of directors Permidex.")

According to Schoenman, Shaw had been a bigwig in the OSS, assigned for a
time to Winston Churchill's headquarters. While still in the OSS, Shaw
became director of New Orleans' International House-World Trade Center,
which, Schoenman says, coordinated banking activities of Meyer Lansky and
Batista's Cuba. The World Trade Center was reorganized as the
International Trade Mart after Shaw was thrown out of Italy by the Italian
government. Here, according to Schoenman, is how Shaw became persona non
grata in Italy and, presumably, France.

French intelligence in 1962 discovered that CMC and Permindex were the
main conduits of arms and money to the Secret Army (OAS) in Algeria.
Schoenman reported, "We had documented that the OAS had undertaken the
assassination of French President Charles de Gaulle. The arms and funds
deployed in three attempts to kill de Gaulle were traced to Permindex. A
specific fund of $200,000 was provided for the assassination.

"The data assembled regarding the role of both CMC and Permindex in this
murderous assignment led de Gaulle publicly to accuse Permindex of
coordinating attempts at his assassination. De Gaulle labeled these CIA
fronts."

According to Schoenman, CMC and Permindex also "funded and aided a
military coup d'etat in Greece and were involved in high-level military
attempts to take over the Italian government," which led to the expulsion
of both organizations from Italy.

"Three men directed the assassination and coup d'etat work of CMC and
Permindex," Schoenman continued, "Maj. L.M. Bloomfield, Ferenc Nagy and
Clay Shaw. Shaw worked closely with Guy Banister, who had set up offices
at 544 Camp St. in New Orleans as a private detective. This was to become
a famous address."

"In fact," Schoenman wrote, "Guy Banister had been director of the FBI
office in Chicago and a ranking official in the Office of Naval
Intelligence. In 1962, $200,000 was channeled in a cash delivery to the
accounts of Shaw's CMC in Paris by the legal counsel of the Anti-Communist
League of the Caribbean--founded by 'detective' Banister.

"Le Devoir, of Montreal, published particulars about the roles of
Bloomfield and Nagy, Shaw's co-directors, concluding: 'Nagy has close ties
to the CIA and the Miami Cuban colony.' After the expulsion from Italy,
Nagy set up new headquarters in Dallas, Texas.

"Shaw was identified to Garrison by four CIA operatives as the man to whom
Banister reported: David Ferrie, Eladio del Valle, Gordon Novell and
Richard Nagell.

"It was Shaw who presented Maj. Gen. Charles Cabell to the Foreign Policy
Association in New Orleans to report on the failed Bay of Pigs invasion.
Cabell was its command director, E. Howard Hunt, its chief political
officer. Cabell was deputy director of the CIA and was, like Hunt, fired
by Kennedy. Cabell's brother, Earle, was mayor of Dallas when Kennedy was
assassinated. Their father and grandfather were mayor and sherrif of
Dallas before them.

"Kennedy was en route to lunch at the International Trade Mart in Dallas
when he was assassinated, a destination which determined the routing of
his motorcade."

O.K. So these people move throughout the history. So I'm trying to give
you some feel, or some examples, of how these people move. McCloy pardons
all these key Nazis. . . . He pardons Dorhnberger. And these other top
people are off the hook because of his intervention. . . . The German
government came and gave these awards to John J. McCloy for his excellent
work there in the period when we were supposed to be de-Nazifying Germany.
And in fact, we were leading to the Nazification of the world, including
America.

Another example would be that scientist I just mentioned, Walter
Dorhnberger.  He was a General, and he was responsible, essentially, for
helping Werhner von Braun and the rocket program get whatever it wanted
during the war. . . . And Dorhnberger was actually scheduled for
indictment. The British prosecutor, Shawcross, said that he ought to hang.
He was suspected of having worked, not only at Dora, but with the
"Butcher" at Auschwitz, at the Auschwitz concentration camp. And instead,
when Werhner von Braun got here to the United States, he said that he
wouldn't do any work on our rockets unless we saved his mentor, his old
friend, Walter Dorhnberger. So McCloy . . . intervened on his behalf and
he was brought directly to the United States. And first, he got a job in
Huntsville, I think at Mussel Shoals, with NASA for a little bit. And then
he got into a position that he kept for many, many years, where he headed
up the helicopter systems division at Bell Aircraft in the Dallas/Houston
area.

And it was in that position that he hired, during the 1950s and '60s, a
top-ranking military intelligence agent by the name of Michael Paine.
Michael Paine had a wife, Ruth Paine, and the two of them were very tight
with the White Russian Solidarist community that lived in Dallas, many of
these White Russians. And I say the history of these Nazis dates back to
the time of the [Bolshevik] revolution. They're disaffected. Many of them
worked with the CIA and other spy agencies, and Paine's family had
connections with them. They went to a White Russian Orthodox church there,
in Dallas, that was built with monies from the Cummins Catherwood Fund
from Philadelphia. One of the blue-line families out in Philadelphia,
Cummins Catherwood also funded the Cuban Aid Relief for the Bay of Pigs
survivors, who were intimately involved in the assassination. And it was
at that church that meetings happened, in the Christmas of the early '60s,
between the Paines and the Oswalds. And it was the Paines that housed
Marina Oswald, out in Irving, Texas. It was the Paines, along with Marina,
who were some of the few people to testify to the idea that Oswald owned a
rifle. It was Ruth Paine that got Oswald the job at the Book Depository,
in October, and placed him, in part, as the patsy there. It was her
friend, Roy Truly, who lied to the police, and said that they had taken a
roll call and that Oswald was the only one missing from the building at
the time they came in to find the so-called assassin.

. . . Years later, Jim Garrison attempted to indict Clay Shaw for his
involvement in the assassination of John F. Kennedy. And Clay Shaw, among
other things, was on the board of directors of a firm called Permindex,
which had offices at that time out of Canada. Where they were doing
training, along with British Intelligence, of assassins all during World
War II. It was work that involved, among other people, Ian Fleming. And in
fact, Ian Fleming's character, James Bond, is a real person that lives in
Philadelphia and is very close to the Cummins Catherwood family.
