JFK FORUM MEMBERSHIP RULES

Thank you for accessing the JFK Assassination Research Forum (JFK).  We
welcome your membership and participation in the Forum.

The purpose of this forum is to facilitate research into the assassination
of JFK, to work together as a cooperative community to determine the facts
of the "crime of the century." We hope you will find the forum useful,
enjoyable and informative. Please feel free to contribute or ask questions
at any time.

I.   Forum Operation

     The JFK Forum offers an extensive messaging system organized into
     relevant and interesting sections wherein you can meet and correspond
     with others who share your interests.  The Forum also provides a
     library section where we maintain downloadable files on topics of
     interest to the members of the Forum.  Most of the files were uploaded
     by our members and new uploads are posted often.  We also offer real
     time chat and conferencing capabilities.  If you have any questions
     regarding the operation of the Forum, please do not hesitate to contact
     our Sysops. You may find a list of the sysops in the Sysop Roster
     announcement.

II.  Forum Operating Rules

     In order to take full advantage of the JFK Forum, you must read and
     understand the following rules and operating procedures of the Forum
     and agree to abide by the rules and operating procedures in their
     entirety. This Forum was created and is administered by an entity
     ("Forum Operator") which is separate and apart from CompuServe.  As
     such, while the operating rules and service agreement you have entered
     into with CompuServe must be observed, the Rules and operating
     procedures of this Forum must also be followed and form the basis for
     all decisions made by the JFK Forum administrators ("Sysops").  Your
     access to this Forum is a privilege, not a right, and access to this
     Forum is not guaranteed by your agreement with CompuServe. The act of
     joining the Forum and your use of the Forum constitutes your acceptance
     of and agreement to be bound by these Forum Membership Rules..

     These rules will be strictly enforced and violators may, at the sole
     discretion of the Forum Operator, be suspended or "Locked Out" of the
     Forum for any reason without prior notice or opportunity to be heard.
     While the JFK Forum promotes the free flow of ideas and encourages wide
     -ranging discussion of issues, certain behavior carries potential risks
     to the Forum Operator and cannot be tolerated.  The Forum Operator's
     failure to enforce a particular rule or policy of the Forum on one
     occasion or against one person does not preclude the enforcement of the
     same rule or policy of the Forum at a different time or against another
     person.  While the Forum Operator is unable to monitor all messages
     posted in the Forum, members are invited to call a Sysop's attention to
     a potentially problematic message. The Forum Operator will periodically
     monitor public discussion on the message board.

     1.   Respect the Other Members of the Forum

          While there is nothing wrong with a healthy argument, you must not
          use offensive language or engage in personal attacks on members
          (or nonmembers) of the Forum.  Personal attacks may subject you
          and the Forum Operator to potential liability for defamation,
          contribute nothing to the free flow of ideas, and tend to inhibit
          rational discussion of the issues.  The Forum Operator is not
          limited in any way in deciding whether a particular message may be
          offensive to a particular member or the Forum in general.
          Examples of potentially offensive messages include, but are not
          limited to, messages that denigrate, insult or ridicule another
          person, or that contain negative comments on the integrity,
          personality, honesty, character, intelligence, methods or motives
          of any person.  In addition, you must respect the privacy of the
          members (and non-members) of the forum.  Do not publish private
          messages without the permission of the sender (unless you feel a
          Forum rule has been broken; if so, forward the message privately
          to a Sysop for evaluation).  Do not publish facts, rumors or
          innuendo regarding any person's personal life.

     2.    You May Not Use the Forum to Promote or Facilitate Illegal
           Activities

           Planning, inciting, promoting or facilitating illegal activities
           through the Forum is strictly prohibited.

     3.   You May Not Post Copyrighted, Trademarked, or Other Proprietary
          Material Without the Express Permission of the Owner

          Library uploads will be reviewed prior to posting in a relevant
          Library section to determine whether, in the sole discretion of
          the Forum Operator, copyrighted, trademarked, or other proprietary
          material is included in the upload.  The Forum Operator cannot
          review messages prior to posting in the Message section.
          Reproduction and/or publication, whether knowing or inadvertent,
          of copyrighted, trademarked or other proprietary material may
          result in liability to the Forum Operator and/or the posting
          member and therefore cannot be tolerated. Your upload or posting
          of any material constitutes a certification by you to the Forum
          Operator that the material does not make use of or infringe on any
          copyright, trademark or other proprietary material of others.  If
          you have any question as to whether your upload or post contains
          copyrighted, trademarked, or other proprietary material, please
          contact a Sysop prior to posting or uploading the material.

          You are free to quote "messages" from other members only to the
          extent necessary to provide a context for your comments.  Quoting
          is discouraged, however, and members are encouraged to use the
          "threading" capability of the Message section to follow the
          context of a particular discussion.  If you have  any questions
          regarding how to follow Message threads, please contact a Sysop.

     4.   You must use your real first and last name when participating in
          the Forum.

     5.   The JFK Forum exists to serve those interested in reseraching
          the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.  Any message,
          upload or thread that, in the sole discretion of the Forum
          Operator, distracts or interferes with this purpose is subject to
          summary deletion accompanied by a warning to the posting member.
          After such deletion and warning, any Forum member who persists in
          any activity of which he or she has been warned is subject to
          suspension from Forum privileges or "Lock Out" without further
          notice.

     6.   The Forum Operator reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to
          suspend or terminate any member's membership rights in the Forum
          at any time for any reason.

III. Ownership of Materials Submitted to the Forum

     Any material created by you and posted or uploaded to the Forum belongs
     to you.  However, you agree that the Forum Operator may edit, copy,
     publish, distribute and/or translate the material within the Forum.
     The Forum maintains ownership rights in the Forum system and message
     threads which may not be reproduced or republished without the express
     consent of the Forum Operator.

IV.  Message Privacy

     Forum messages may be sent from one member to another privately.  We do
     not have the capability, nor do we intend, to monitor private messages.
     However, please be aware that private messages may be republished
     publicly or transmitted to us for our review.  The rules listed in
     Paragraph II above apply to private messages with the same force and
     effect as they do to public messages and will be enforced in the same
     manner.

V.   Indemnification

     Operation of this Forum carries inherent risks to the Forum Operator
     because the Forum Operator literally cannot control all aspects of the
     Forum at all times.  Accordingly, by joining the Forum, you agree to
     indemnify the Forum Operator for any damages, costs and expenses,
     including reasonable attorneys fees, that accrue to the Forum Operator
     as a result of or arising out of your activities on the Forum
     including, but not limited to, any claims for violation of any
     copyright, trademark, or protected material, or any claim of
     defamation, slander, libel, disparagement or the like.

VI.  Limitation of Liability

     YOU JOIN AND PARTICIPATE IN THE JFK FORUM AT YOUR OWN RISK. THE FORUM
     OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES OR LOSSES WHICH RESULT TO
     YOU FROM YOUR USE OF OR PARTICIPATION IN THIS FORUM.

VII. Choice of Law And Forum

     In joining the Forum, you agree that any disputes between you and the
     Forum Operator will be governed by the law of the State of Georgia and
     you further agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Superior Court
     of Cobb County, State of Georgia or the United States District Court
     for the Northern District of Georgia, Atlanta Division, for all
     disputes arising out of or related to your membership or participation
     in the Forum.

VIII.     No Warranties

     THE FORUM OPERATOR MAKES NO WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, THAT ACCESS
     TO THE FORUM WILL BE AVAILABLE AT ANY PARTICULAR TIME, THAT OPERATION
     OF THE FORUM WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED OR ERROR FREE, OR THAT ANY
     PARTICULAR RESULT OR INFORMATION WILL BE OBTAINED. MEMBERSHIP IN THE
     FORUM IS OFFERED ON AN "AS IS" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND,
     OTHER THAN WARRANTIES WHICH ARE INCAPABLE OF EXCLUSION, WAIVER, OR
     RESTRICTION UNDER THE LAW APPLICABLE HERETO.

IX.  Entire Agreement

     The preceding constitutes the entire agreement between you and the
     Forum operator concerning your participation in this Forum.  The
     operating rules and procedures of the Forum may change from time to
     time and such changes will be posted in the "General Discussion"
     message section (S1), "Member Resources" library (L16) and in the
     Forum Notice.  Only the Forum Operator can change a rule or policy of
     this Forum.

BY JOINING THE JFK FORUM, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT YOU HAVE READ AND AGREE WITH 
THE FOREGOING RULES. <<>>
