Newman: And then as the car got directly in front of us, well,
a gunshot, apparently from behind us, hit the President in the
side of the temple.

Reporter: Did you, do you think that the first gunshot came, ah,
from behind you too?

Newman: Uh-huh. I think it come from the same location, ah,
apparently back up on the, the ah, the mall, ah, I don't know
what you call it.

Reporter: For the benefit of nomenclature, all you folks have
gone out under the viaduct and as you turn going under the 
viaduct on the left hand side there is some grass. Ah, do you
should think that the shot came from up on top of the viaduct
toward the President, is that correct, sir?

Newman: Yes, sir. Ah, ah, no, not on the viaduct itself, but up
on top of the hill, the little mound of ground at a garden.
