Cleetwood Cove Trail down to the bottom

Crater Lake has only one way to walk to the bottom—along Cleetwood Cove Trail on the north side. It drops 700 feet and is about a mile long, full of switchbacks to as not to become too steep. We both made it with ease.

Here is a typical view near the top of the trail. The lake can be sensed on the left.

A little farther down.

Two-thirds of the way down. You can see the group of teenagers ahead of us.

A look back up the trail.

Walking along this trail was one of the highlights of my recent life. And it really was this beautiful.

Just about at the bottom.
