A Christmas Present From Yuan Hui (24 December)
Yuan Hui, who had just returned from spending a year with me at the University of Rhode Island, surprised me with a Christmas gift of this formal Chinese jacket. To commemorate the occasion, I posed for three photos.
These photos were taken in the group's office in the Chemistry Building.
Chinese people like action photos. Who was I to refuse? But don't try this at home, folks, because fighting is not good for formal Chinese jackets.
Hui's desk is on the right, where she is temporarily functioning as the group's administrator. The table on the left is for another one of the students.
